Amazon Security is a multidisciplinary team comprised of software engineers, security engineers, program managers, data engineers, and compliance specialists.

AWS Security Operations Centre (SOC) Software Engineering team builds and owns services that automate and power security processes within Amazon.

As an SDE on the SOC Software Engineering team, your role is pivotal in maintaining the robust and innovative solutions of our team.

You will work on complex challenges in existing and new development initiatives, focusing on areas with ambiguity.

Your goal is to design and develop software systems that are secure, maintainable, scalable, and extendable.

You will develop an understanding of the business impact of your systems and make responsible trade-offs between the short-term operational needs and long-term business objectives.

• Write high-quality, efficient, and testable production code.
  
  
• Build highly available, secure distributed systems at Amazon scale.
  
  
• Be an end-to-end technical owner of the services you build, including development, testing and support.
  
  
• Make a direct contribution to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an Agile team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
  
  
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  
  
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  
  
• Successful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  
  
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
