Our Dublin-based client is looking for an experienced Senior Developer to join their team on a contract basis.
This position can be offered as a 1-year Fixed Term contract or on the option of a daily rate.
We need a person with strong experience in WordPress development and the role can be performed on a remote working basis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical delivery of projects, including budget, timeline, quality, and scope management.
- Ensure alignment and buy-in from development teams and stakeholders on proposed solutions.
- Adhere to best development practices and ensure they are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide accurate time and resource estimates for tasks and tickets.
- Mentor and guide peer developers, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Work closely with the Agile Project Manager/Scrum Master to ensure smooth integration with the global agile team.
- Ensure the successful technical delivery of projects, meeting client expectations.
- Continually assess and validate technical assumptions throughout the project.
- Provide feedback to the Development Manager on areas for developer training and professional growth.
- Develop and manage various components within the chosen CMS, integrated with backend databases.
- Assist in building system architecture on AWS Cloud, managing resources such as databases and other cloud services.
- Oversee the creation and integration of APIs, ensuring smooth functionality.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the websites.
- Utilize tools like DataDog for observability and optimize resource usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a WordPress/HubSpot full stack developer.
- Strong expertise in Linux, MySQL, PHP, Angular, React, and HubL.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and monitoring skills, particularly in AWS and observability environments.
- Familiarity with benchmarking tools for Apache and MySQL.
- Experience in performance tuning for WordPress or HubSpot sites (or other PHP-based technologies like Drupal).
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise or BitBucket for version control, as well as Jenkins for CI/CD.
- Proficient in developing plugins, components, or extensions.
- Strong experience with RESTful/GraphQL APIs, ideally in a headless WordPress or HubSpot environment.
- Good understanding of web application security best practices.
- Experience managing MySQL/Aurora databases.
- Familiarity with development frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, or Angular is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies is a plus.
- Experience with test and debugging tools.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- Excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Ability to work effectively within a global cross-functional team (XFT) environment.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for accessible web design.
- Familiarity with international technical principles and implementation.
