Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time (0.6-0.7FTE) specific purpose contract as a Research Fellow with the HRB-Clinical Research Facility Galway (HRB-CRFG) team at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
This position is available immediately to support the work currently being undertaken within the unit.
This is a Specific Purpose Contract to support the unit.
The HRB-Clinical Research Facility Galway (HRB-CRFG) team are currently involved in a number of projects which will continue over the coming five years.
Since 2008, the HRB-CRFG has developed and refined a Biostatistics and Data Management Hub which includes both an extensive biostatistics service and the provision of an integrated clinical data management service.
This means seamless clinical data capture, validation, monitoring, storage, processing and archiving powered by the latest clinical research data management technology.
The post holder will provide professional management, training (where required) and co-ordination of the data management team, interact with industry-based clients and clinical investigators, assign work and oversee the collation, management and integrity of clinical research data, collaborate with the Statistics team, as well as implementing the latest research-based data management processes as determined by national and international clinical research management bodies and legislative guidelines.
The role will also involve oversight of database building, Case Report Form (CRF) development or amendment, data collection, review and discrepancy management to ensure data quality and consistency and oversight of data management practices.

Salary : Irish University Association (IUA)Research Fellow salary scale €65,237 - €85,164 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
This role is 0.6-0.7FTE.
The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale.
This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the payscale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scale.
