Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Dublin.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work on high-profile MEP projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review MEP specifications and develop detailed procurement packages.
  • Participate in all preconstruction activities, including health and safety planning, technical submissions, construction drawings, prefabrication coordination, building control documentation, and commissioning management.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to support all electrical engineering requirements.
  • Analyse IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with BIM teams to convert design information into installation drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications and project timelines.
  • Align engineering tasks with the overall project schedule, supporting procurement, installation, and construction milestones.
  • Prepare and submit technical documentation, tracking approvals for electrical systems and components.
  • Engage with vendors to obtain technical support and explore value engineering opportunities to enhance system performance.
  • Manage material procurement, including take-offs from Engineering Materials Reports (EMR) and identifying lead times for critical components.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely site availability.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet project specifications and quality benchmarks through regular inspections and audits.
  • Define project completion criteria and prepare close-out documentation for electrical systems.
  • Prepare tender packages for subcontractors and suppliers in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor (QS).
  • Manage electrical work packs from development through implementation and final handover.
  • Oversee BIM deliverables, including the creation and release of isometric electrical drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations for directors and project teams.
  • Organize meetings and training sessions to keep teams aligned on engineering requirements.
  • Ensure electrical designs meet all regulatory and legal compliance standards in coordination with client project management teams.
  • Provide technical support during construction, troubleshooting issues and ensuring best practices are followed.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar electrical engineering role.
  • Degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in construction project delivery.
  • Proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
