Role: Controls and Automation Specialist

Job Summary: This role will ensure cross-plant technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and automation systems, enhancing uptime and reliability.

  • Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Electrical Engineering department and assist with project deliverables.

  • Providing electrical assistance including troubleshooting, project engineering and project management to all Plants

  • Updating existing legacy technologies in different plants to current standards.

  • Responsible for electrical project management including scheduling, financial, and management of contractors' work.

  • Responsible for Labor-hour estimation, work planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting.

  • Updating schematic drawings in AutoCAD as required

  • Programming automation and controls systems and improving existing PLC programs including servo drives and A/C drives

  • Responsible for the design, test, commission, start up, recondition & work with current equipment configurations & to Engineer new technologies.

  • Qualifications

  • 4-year Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred

  • 5 years as an Electrical Engineer

  • Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel.

  • 4+ years using AutoCAD, MS Office Suite including Project

  • 4+ years with electrical safety code and its application in industrial wiring and power distribution

  • 4+ years working with PLC and HMI applications (including RSlinx, RSlogix5, 500, 5000, & Factory Talk View)

  • 4+ years with PLC & HMI systems design, programming, commissioning and start up including system hardware selection, I/O panels and subsystems layout and wiring.
