THE OPPORTUNITY As Breakfast Chef your main responsibility is to prepare and deliver our renowned a la carte breakfast offering to guests.
Providing a high standard of fresh food in our busy restaurant, liaising with the front of house supervisor to ensure a smooth and professional service.
Additional responsibilities include.
Pro-actively managing daily operations of a busy breakfast service, taking control and ensuring that our guests have a delicious and truly memorable experience.
Directing, managing and controlling all breakfast related activities and assisting with lunch service when required.
Setting up and cleaning down the food preparation station.
Pro-actively identifying, implementing and evaluating departmental standards.
Ensuring mise-en-place is freshly prepared.
Ensure dishes are all prepared using the standard recipe, quantity and presentation standards.
Act as a role model and mentor for junior team members, leading by example and providing guidance and support.
Effectively initiating corrective actions where standards have not met expectations.
Working closely with the senior culinary team in organising the compilation menus.
Auditing departmental services and monitoring their quality on a regular basis.
Effectively completing orders and stock checks to consistently ensure adequate levels of stock.
Liaising and communicating with all departments on a daily basis to ensure smooth operation of service.
Ensuring all guest feedback is followed up and appropriate action taken.
Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures and ensuring staff adhere to procedures.
Adhering to all food hygiene procedures and ensuring that all staff observe these procedures.
Adhering to personal grooming and hygiene standards.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment (preferably in a high-end restaurant within the hotel, leisure or hospitality industry would be a distinct advantage) High standard of personal presentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for delivering exceptional guest service Courteous and pleasant attitude towards colleagues Ability to work as part of a team Excellent attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing priorities in a busy, fast paced and challenging environment with minimum supervision Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required) LOCATION Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast, 1-3 Great Victoria Street, Belfast, BT2 7BQ.
